Section Chairs Honored
Professors Carl Schmid and Barbara Horwitz were honored at a recent gathering for their contributions as section and department chairs in the division. Schmid was chair of the Section of Molecular and Cellular Biology from July 1993 to June 1998, and chair of the former Department of Genetics from July 1991 to June 1993. Professor Michael Dahmus is the section’s new chair. Horwitz was chair of the Section of Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior from July 1993 to June 1998, and chair of the former Department of Animal Physiology from July 1991 to June 1993. The section’s new chair is Professor Leo Chalupa.
