FacultyDeborah Delmer, professor and chair of plant biology, was recently elected president of the American Society of Plant Physiologists for 1999-1000. She will begin a one-year term as president-elect of the organization this fall. The society, which has a membership that spans six continents, plays a key role in uniting the international plant science community.Jerry Hedrick, professor of molecular and cellular biology, has been appointed associate dean for graduate studies. His areas of responsibility include graduate-student support and graduate-program planning, coordination, and funding. Hedrick joined the UC Davis faculty in 1965.
