Undergratuate Research Conference

More than 140 undergraduates from all academic fields seized the opportunity to present their research findings in a manner similar to that found at professional meetings during the ninth annual Undergraduate Research Conference held May 2 on the UC Davis campus. Thirty-eight of the undergraduates were students in the Division of Biological Sciences. The students conducted research under the supervision of faculty members and professional researchers from throughout the campus, including 11 faculty members in the division. Conference participants presented their work in either an oral or poster format. The majority gave 15-minute talks to audiences that included faculty and staff members, administrators, and peers. They then responded to questions during a 5-minute question and answer period. Others attended a “poster session” in which they displayed a poster about their work and answered questions from circulating guests.
