Advising Resources for Current Students
There are three levels of academic advising. Staff; peer, and faculty advisers are available to assist currently enrolled students. Individual advising appointments are available to all students who are currently attending classes at UC Davis.Staff Advisers for Specific Majors
Staff advisers for each academic major are located in the department / major advising offices They can help students with academic planning and course selection. Faculty Advisers
Faculty advisers can help students develop their academic perspective.
Peer Advisers
Peer advisers are knowledgeable students who serve in the academic departments (major) advising offices and the college office. Peers advisers are an excellent resource for answers to questions about courses and scheduling and for general information.

Dean's Office Advising
Advisers in the Undergraduate Academic Programs (UAP) Unit of the Dean's Office, College of Biological Sciences are responsible for monitoring the academic progress of all students enrolled in majors in the College of Biological Sciences. They can assist students with
- College and university General Education requirements
- Change of major
- Academic difficulties
- Leave of absence from school
- Special situations*
We strongly encourage all students to seek help with a problem before it impacts academic performance. *If you have any problems (personal, financial, medical) that are affecting your academic performance, please call and make an appointment to come in and see us. Note: Individual advising appointments are available only to students who are currently enrolled and attending classes at UC Davis. Advising for prospective students is available through the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
Walk-in advising hours are Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - noon and 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. in 178 Mrak Hall.
